BASICS THAT EVERYONE SHOULD KNOW BEFORE JUMPING INTO DESIGN PART 2

The Elements of Art:

The elements or things you need to create your own artwork are these things, do you think you know them all? go through the post, see if you can find something interesting.

1: Line – Its just a moving point leaving back its path with it.it can be a curve, a straight line or any other line. From One point to other point the path between these two points is known as line. and well as you see different kind of lines out there in daily life objects, in case you try to draw them with simple pen and paper you will come to know that to draw a objects how many types of lines you have used in it.

2: Shape – Two dimensional enclosed areas. Shapes are flat and both types of shapes are used by artist(geometric and organic). From rectangle, circle, oval or any other custom shape that you can draw, shapes are every where in our real world or in the world of art, design. shapes are created from the basic element of Art, from line.A line to formulate a rectangle, circle, square, triangle etc, this way from basic you go to the other level of creation. It is very simple to look at once but imagine for a minute the world of creation, artwork and it will be amazing for you.

3: Form – Forms are 3 dimensional objects that can be viewed by any angle unlike shapes it got one extra property height/depth.

4: Space – Internal/External areas of objects that can be used to create an illusion of depth in any artwork. Many artists create and use negative space to create awesome artwork. You can go out there on google and search negative space logos or artwork and it will show you amazing artwork.

5: Value – It is brightness/darkness of an object/surface/color, it is also called tone.

6: Color – Chromatic quality of any object. We get color as the way it light reflects off any surface/object.
For color there are three properties.
a) Hue – That is also called color name
b) Intensity – Strength or purity of color
c) value – Its darkness/brightness

7: Texture – Texture is the surface quality of a shape – rough, smooth, soft hard glossy etc.
Texture can be physical (tactile) or visual, it can be created either from using shapes, lines in a regular pattern or can be used from already generated texture from other artwork.

8: Type – Visual form of language/word/alphabet and can be manipulated for later use or any use in artwork or in design either for creation of an artistic new font or for designing logo for a new company.
